Kitchen Table keeps a record of what your household decided, and why. Check the common questions below. If they don’t cover it, send me a ticket at the bottom of this page. I’m one person and I read everything.
What’s new in each version, and the same two buttons (“Something’s broken”, “I need something”), live on the Kitchen Table release notes.
Common questions
Where is my data? In your own iCloud account, through Apple’s CloudKit. I can’t see it. See the privacy policy.
How do I share with someone? Tap Share at the top of your list and send the invite. They’ll need Kitchen Table and an iCloud account. Once they tap the invite, you both keep the same record, and either of you can add to it.
How do I know it’s syncing? Look at the bottom of either list. It says who the table is shared with and when it last synced, like Shared with Sam · synced 2 min ago. If something’s wrong (iCloud signed out, asking for your password, or full), a line under the title says so; tap it for more. Changes usually reach the other phone within a minute. Offline is fine: it catches up when you’re back.
I used it on my own before I was invited. What happens to my list? It comes with you. Once you accept the invite and the shared table arrives, your own decisions and money steps move into it, and you’ll see a note saying how many. A copy of your list from before is saved in the Files app, under Kitchen Table, just in case.
Is the money plan shared too? Yes. Money rides along with your decisions in the same share, so there’s no second invite.
Where is the money plan? At the top of the list, tap Money, next to Decisions. The app remembers which one you had open.
How does the progress bar work? A step gets a thin bar when Target and Where we are are the same kind of number: both dollar amounts, or both months (or weeks). Anything else gets no bar, and that’s fine; they’re just notes.
- Saving up: Target is the goal, Where we are is what you have.
$12,000and$4,000reads $4,000 of $12,000 · 33% saved. - Paying something down: Target is where you started, and Where we are is what’s left, with the word “left” in it.
$110,000and$51,000 leftreads $51,000 left of $110,000 · 54% paid. “Owed”, “remaining” and “to go” work too. - Time:
3 monthsand1 monthreads 1 month of 3 months · 33% done.
How do I keep a backup? At the bottom of the list, tap Keep a copy. It saves everything, photos included, as a file you can keep in Files. Restore from a copy only adds what’s missing, so it’s safe to run twice.
I deleted the app. Is my data gone? No. Reinstall it and sign in with the same iCloud account.
Something I added isn’t showing up on the other phone. Check that both phones are online and signed in to iCloud. Then open Kitchen Table on the phone that’s behind and give it a moment.
What does it cost? $2.99, paid once. No subscription and no in-app purchases. If the person you share with is in your Apple Family, Family Sharing covers them.
Requirements iPhone with iOS 18 or later.

Still stuck? Tell me what you were doing and what happened. If it’s about sharing, mention whether it’s your phone, theirs, or both. It goes straight to me.
